In Britain, Rishi Sunak's Conservative Party is facing a new crisis before the next elections. Due to opposition to government policies and a collapsing economy, the Conservative Party is continuously losing by-elections, which has led to calls for a change of leadership in the party.

100 MPs of the party have decided to resign before the elections. Reports say that many MPs feel that they will lose their seats in the upcoming elections. Along with this, some MPs have decided to retire from politics and are looking for jobs in the private sector.

In the 2019 elections in Britain, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave the party a majority, but after that the party has lost more than 10 by-elections in a single term.

Recent defeats in Kingswood and Wellingborough have left Conservative MPs worried. Labor candidates won from these two seats. After the by-election results, Labor Party leader Keir Starmer said the results made it clear the country wanted change.

West Coast pipeline discussed as Carney meets Alberta and B.C. premiers in Ottawa

A proposed West Coast pipeline was among several major energy issues discussed during a meeting this week between Prime Minister Mark Carney and the premiers of Alberta and British Columbia. Premier David Eby in Ottawa, where long standing disagreements over pipeline expansion have often strained relations between the two provinces. Despite those differences, Eby described Wednesday’s meeting as constructive and said the tone was “borderline friendly.” Eby has previously voiced opposition to a new pipeline to the B.C. coa
