Shortly after 11 p.m. on October 2, 2022, frontline RCMP officers responded to the 8000 block Sunnymede Crescent after the sounds of gunfire were heard.

Two men were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. One was transported to hospital while the other was pronounced deceased.

While it is still early in this investigation, this incident appears to be targeted.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time pending this investigation.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been contacted and has taken conduct of this investigation. IHIT will be working in close partnership with the Richmond RCMP.
