Halton Regional Police say they are searching for several suspects after a home invasion in Milton early Wednesday that left one person with minor injuries.
According to a Halton Regional Police Service news release, officers were called to a residence near Rose Way and Wellwood Terrace at about 2:45 a.m. on March 18. Police say approximately five male suspects wearing face coverings forced entry through the front door and confronted an adult female inside the home.
Investigators say the suspects demanded money and stole cash along with designer clothing before fleeing the scene. The victim was physically assaulted during the incident and treated for minor injuries, police said.
Police say no weapons were seen during the investigators do not believe there is an ongoing risk to public safety. The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to identify the suspects and a possible vehicle involved.
Halton police are asking residents in the area to review security or dash camera footage from around the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
While the incident occurred in Ontario, home invasions remain a policing priority across Canadian jurisdictions, including Western provinces, with agencies continuing to emphasize community reporting and surveillance footage in identifying suspects.
