B.C. RCMP and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team have confirmed the arrest of three men in connection with the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
IHIT Superintendent Mandeep Mooker said that 22-year-old Karan Brar, 22-year-old Kamalpreet Singh and 28-year-old Karanpreet Singh have been detained.
All these three were living in Edmonton.
They will face charges of first degree murder and conspiracy in the case.
The police also clarified that the investigation is not over yet.
The role of others in this is also being investigated.
RCMP Assistant Commissioner David Teboul said that they can't share details about the evidence collected by the police and the motive behind Nijjar's murder.
He said that a separate investigation is also underway in these cases, which is not limited to those arrested today and these efforts also include an investigation into the murder's connection with the Government of India.
It is to be noted that Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered on the night of June 18, 2023 in the parking lot of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey.
