Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says new restrictions on travel are coming and he is urging Canadians to cancel all travel plans they may have.

He says that includes travel abroad and travel to other provinces.

Trudeau says while the number of new cases linked to travel remains low, the government won't hesitate to impose stricter measures at the border.

The Liberal government has been hinting that tougher border controls are coming and Trudeau says they are working on what can be done without interrupting trade flows.

After surviving Trump's attacks on NAFTA and Canadian steel and aluminum exporters, Canada confident to deal with Buy American plan

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says after surviving Donald Trump's attacks on NAFTA and Canadian steel and aluminum exporters, he's confident Canada can deal with Joe Biden's Buy American plan.

But he's not saying if Canada faces a tougher fight than in 2010, when it secured an exception to a similar Obama administration plan.

Conservative international trade critic Tracy Gray wants Trudeau to push back hard on the US.

She says Biden's plan to prioritize U-S suppliers will jeopardize North America's economic recovery.
