Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has shown concern about conditions in B.C. Trudeau tweeted about the situation and asked the people in the affected areas to stay safe.

To the people of Merritt, and to all British Columbians affected by the flooding: please stay safe. And as Minister Blair said, we’re ready to provide whatever assistance is needed as you deal with and recover from the flooding and this extreme weather. We’re here for you.

Environment and Climate Change Canada says Edmonton has experienced an unusually wet start to the summer, with June setting a new monthly rainfall record and above-average precipitation continuing into July. North Vancouver RCMP are renewing their appeal for the public's help in locating 46-year-old Mihaela Ududec, who has been missing since July 7. At least seven structures have been destroyed as a fast-moving wildfire burns through British Columbia's Fraser Canyon region, according to local officials.
