Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched high throughput COVID-19 testing facilities on July 27.

The facilities were launched in three cities including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Kolkata via video conferencing.

PM Modi said, "10,000 capacity of tests are going to be added in the present capacity of tests in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Now in these following cities, tests will be carried out at a greater pace.

These labs will not remain restricted to testing of COVID-19 but will be expanded for testing of many other diseases including Hepatitis B and C, HIV, and Dengue in future."


India's COVID-19 count crosses 14 lakh-mark with 49,931 new cases; recovery rate at 63.92 pc

With a spike of 49,931 cases in the last 24 hours, India's COVID count crossed the 14 lakh-mark on Monday while the recovery rate stood at 63.92 per cent.

According to Union Health Ministry, total COVID-19 cases stand at 14,35,453 including 4,85,114 active cases and 9,17,568 cured/discharged/migrated cases.

With 708 deaths in the last 24 hours, the cumulative toll reached 32,771.

Coquitlam RCMP asks public for video after early morning fire at vacant apartment site

Coquitlam RCMP is appealing for witnesses and video after an early morning fire damaged a vacant apartment building on North Road over the weekend. Officers were called around 5 a.m. on Sunday to the property at 727 North Road, a site already slated for demolition as part of ongoing redevelopment in the area.
