Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is set to host an election rally in Surrey this evening. Titled “Poilievre Canada First,” the rally will take place at the industrial site located at 9690 192nd Street. The event begins at 6 p.m., with residents encouraged to attend.
Candidates from six Surrey ridings are also actively campaigning in the lead-up to the federal election. Rajvir Dhillon, representing the Conservatives in Surrey City Centre, is challenging Liberal candidate Randeep Sarai. In Surrey Newton, Harjit Singh Gill of the Conservatives is contesting against Sukh Dhaliwal of the Liberals.
For Fleetwood-Port Kells, the Liberals have fielded Gurbaksh Saini, while Sukh Pandher is representing the Conservatives.
This marks the first visit by a federal party leader to British Columbia since the election campaign officially began.
