Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has unveiled another tax cut as he intensifies his election campaign. Poilievre announced that seniors working under his government will be exempt from income tax on earnings up to $34,000, marking an increase of $10,000 from the current exemption.

The Conservative leader also confirmed that the retirement age for the Canada Pension Plan, the Guaranteed Income Supplement, and Old Age Security will remain at 65. Notably, Poilievre made the announcement while campaigning in Quebec, which holds 78 federal ridings. Additionally, he stated that seniors will benefit from a tax reduction on income above $34,000, with the rate dropping from 15% to 12.75% for those in the lowest income bracket.
