Amid heightened tensions with Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, India has doubled the number of BSF forces on the border and deployed troops, along with which farmers in border villages have been asked to harvest wheat soon.
There is also a fear in the villages that they may have to vacate their homes. At the same time, the Pakistan Army has violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and targeted Indian Army posts, to which the Indian Army has also responded.
In view of the situation developing in both the countries, the United Nations has appealed to India and Pakistan to reduce tension and exercise restraint. A spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that he is closely and with great concern watching the situation between India and Pakistan.
