The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is leading on more than 290 seats and the Congress-led INDIA bloc has gained traction on over 228 seats, defying exit poll predictions.Kishori Lal from Congress is currently in the lead with a margin of 62,802 votes. union minister Smriti Irani of the BJP is in second place.
A tough fight between the NDA and the INDIA bloc is being witnessed in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.

On its own, the Bharatiya Janata Party appeared to be falling below the majority mark with leads in 236 seats despite significant gains in Odisha , Telangana and Kerala.
