The mother of Captain Richard MacDougall, the Snowbirds pilot involved in the crash in Kamloops, BC, says her family is grateful for his survival.

Paulette Richard says she has talked to her son since the crash and he is trying to process what happened.

Richard says MacDougall's injuries include multiple fractures that occurred when he hit the roof of a home after ejecting from the aircraft.

Richard says she's very saddened by the death of Captain Jenn Casey of Halifax.

Casey, a public affairs officer, died Sunday when the plane crashed in a residential area of Kamloops while on a cross-country tour.
