The work of holding the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab has started from 7 am. As soon as the voting started, long lines started forming at the polling booths.
Punjab recorded a voter turnout of 55.20 per cent as of 5 pm.
There are 13 lok sabha seats in punjab.
INDIA bloc allies — the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) — are contesting separately while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) are contesting the Lok Sabha polls on their own for the first time since 1996.
