The counting of Lok Sabha elections has started. Simranjit Singh Mann of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar from Sangrur seat is the current Member of Parliament, who re-entered Parliament after defeating Aam Aadmi Party in the by-election in 2022.

In the first trends of this time's election results, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair is leading. The current MP Simranjit Singh Mann is running at number two and Congress candidate Sukhpal Khaira is running at number three.

Man Who Allegedly Threatened to Kill PM Mark Carney Identified

A 31-year-old Calgary man accused of making death threats against Prime Minister Mark Carney has been identified as Jamie Da Costa, who will remain in custody. During a court hearing, defence counsel said Da Costa was ordered to remain in custody earlier this month. As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Calgary Remand Centre. Bomb Threat Forces Emergency Landing of IndiGo Flight in Ahmedabad

An IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport on Thursday evening after receiving a bomb threat. Police said IndiGo flight 6E97 landed at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at around 5:45 p.m. local time. All 107 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated, and no suspicious object was found on board.
