Atishi is the third woman to become the Chief Minister of Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday evening. M. Resigned from the post. His place will now be Chief Minister Atishi Singh, who is very close to Kejriwal. Kejriwal also recommended his name in the legislative party meeting. Atishi will remain the Chief Minister of Delhi till the assembly elections.
Atishi is the third woman to become the Chief Minister of Delhi after former Congress Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and former BJP Chief Minister Sushma Swaraj. It is to be noted that only 5 months are left for the assembly elections in Delhi and despite being out on bail, Kejriwal did not have the power of Chief Minister.
In fact, as per the Supreme Court's terms, Kejriwal could neither go to the Chief Minister's office nor sign any official file. They are also not allowed to comment publicly on their trial.
