The search has resumed for a Newfoundland and Labrador man missing in British Columbia since last Thanksgiving.
RCMP in Princeton, B.C., say belongings believed to be those of Jordan Naterer were found July 4 in the provincial park where the 25 year old was hiking solo in October 2020.
Police have not described the items but say in a statement they were found by a volunteer searcher in a remote area of Manning Provincial Park, 175 kilometres east of Vancouver.
No sign of Naterer has been found and RCMP say a police helicopter and Princeton Search and Rescue members have been sent to the area to resume the search.
An extensive search was launched when Naterer was reported missing Oct. 12 after he failed to attend a Thanksgiving dinner party, but the search was suspended about three weeks later.
The case reached the prime minister during a virtual town hall with members of Memorial University in late October when a school official told Justin Trudeau that Naterer's father, the dean of Memorial's faculty of engineering, had been imploring Vancouver police to continue the search.
