Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is coming to Canada this weekend. He will be in Toronto this Saturday to meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

This will be Meloni's first visit to Canada after being elected as the Prime Minister of Italy in 2022. The last time Trudeau and Meloni met was during the G-7 meeting in Japan, but the atmosphere between the two leaders was heated by a comment by Trudeau.

Trudeau cited reports that Maloney had suddenly told reporters that Canada is LGBT-friendly. Concerned about some of the steps being taken by Italy in the matter of rights.

PM Trudeau's comments made Maloney quite visible, speaking to reporters after the meeting, Maloney accused Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of being a victim of fake news.
