Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned United Kingdom that it could be considered a party to any military action against Iran if it allows the United States to use British bases for such operations.
According to statements attributed to Araghchi, he said any cooperation enabling U.S. strikes would be viewed by Tehran as direct involvement. He also accused the United States and Israel of violating international laws and principles in carrying out attacks against Iran. The claims have not been independently verified.
Araghchi described the United Kingdom and some European countries as biased, adding that Iran maintains a legal right to defend itself under international law.
He said Iran respects the sovereignty of neighbouring countries and does not intend to target them directly. However, he added that U.S. military bases located in those countries could be considered sources of attacks if used in operations against Iran.
