IPS officer Paramraj Singh Umranangal reinstated

His reinstatement has taken place on the order of the Punjab-Haryana High Court. The High Court had ordered the state government to reinstate them in the Punjab Police within 15 days.

The Punjab government has reinstated IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal, who has been suspended for nearly 5 years in the case of Behbal Kalan and Kotakpura firing in Faridkot district of Punjab, with immediate effect.

His reinstatement has taken place on the order of the Punjab-Haryana High Court. The High Court had ordered the state government to reinstate them in the Punjab Police within 15 days. However, they have not been posted yet. They will report to the DGP for now.

Apart from the Kotakpura and Behbal Kalan shootings, an FIR of drug trafficking was also registered against Umranangal, of which he has already been acquitted, while he was under suspension in the other two cases.
