Two former Alberta premiers who once stood on opposite sides of provincial politics have joined forces to oppose Alberta’s separation from Canada. Former United Conservative Party Premier Jason Kenney and former NDP Premier Rachel Notley are scheduled to speak at an event organized by the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. Kenney defeated Notley’s NDP government in the 2019 provincial election. Their joint appearance comes just one week before Albertans vote in a 10-question referendum that includes the issue of separation from Canada.

A train accident occurred in Multan district of Pakistan’s Punjab province on Tuesday, when the Peshawar-bound Rehman Baba Express derailed near Sher Shah Railway Station. A pickup truck and a transit bus were involved in a head-on collision in Delta on Sunday night near 120th Street and 92A Avenue. According to reports, a northbound Ford pickup first struck a construction warning sign before losing control and entering the southbound lane. The truck then collided head-on with an oncoming transit bus after narrowly avoiding several other vehicles.
