Surrey Police Service says a man designated as a high-risk offender will be living in the city and is warning the public as part of a formal disclosure.
According to a Surrey Police Service news release, Nathanial Odorjan, 42, has a history of violence against people, including offences involving women and underage girls. Police said the notice is intended to support public safety and awareness.
Odorjan is described as a White male, about six-foot-one and 150 pounds, with short balding brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he has previously worn facial hair.
The release states Odorjan is currently bound by a court order that includes multiple conditions. These include a prohibition on accessing the internet for social media, chatrooms, forums, or maintaining online profiles, and a ban on communicating with anyone he knows or reasonably believes to be under 18, except family members.
He is also prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol, illegal drugs, cannabis, or other intoxicating substances, and may only use prescription medication as directed by a licensed medical practitioner in British Columbia.
Surrey Police Service said such disclosures are made when authorities believe there is a risk to public safety and that notifying the community may help reduce that risk. Police did not specify where in Surrey Odorjan will be residing.
