On the questions raised by the opposition parties on Punjab's excise policy, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema said that he is ready to face any inquiry.
The Shiromani Akali Dal has alleged that similar to Delhi's excise policy, there is a disturbance in Punjab as well. Harpal Cheema said that due to the excise policy, the revenue of Punjab has increased by Rs 4,000 crore in two years and has succeeded in ending the liquor mafia in the state.
Amidst his comment, the number of people who died due to poisonous liquor in Sangrur district has increased to 13 in three days. The condition of more than a dozen people is critical and they have been admitted to different hospitals.
