Bharat Bhushan Ashu, who was a cabinet minister during the Congress government in Punjab, has been remanded by the court for another 5 days in the custody of the ED. Congress MLA Pargat Singh and the local leadership of Jalandhar were also present in Ashu's support during the court appearance.

Meanwhile, the ED has checked the accounts of several close associates of Ashu and is making a list of some people. During the investigation, foreign transactions were found in the accounts due to which Ashu's problems increased.

Bharat Bhushan Ashu is facing investigation in the multi-crore transport tender scam in the Food and Civil Supplies Department while he was a minister.

A 33-year-old man is facing multiple criminal charges after an alleged armed carjacking during a vehicle test drive at a Red Deer dealership, according to the RCMP.
