Fatal shooting in Burnaby

A man has been killed in a deadly shooting on a usually busy Burnaby street.

RCMP say it happened last night at around 11 p.m. and the unnamed victim died at the scene.

Just a few minutes later officers were called to a burning vehicle on a quiet Burnaby street about seven kilometres from the homicide.

The shooting and vehicle arson carry the hallmarks of previous targeted hits but police have not said if last night's attack might have been planned, and they are asking witnesses or drivers with dashcam video to contact them.
