Death toll in Morocco exceeds 2900, thousands injured

Friday's earthquake in Morocco has caused massive destruction, killing over 2,900 people and injuring thousands.
As the rescue operation continues to accelerate, the death toll and the number of injured continue to rise.
The province's south-west of Marrakesh has been devastated with residents waiting for aid, and many communities in need of food, water and electricity.
Army has been deployed to distribute food items and blankets to the people.
It is being reported that the magnitude of the earthquake has been measured at 6.8.
According to the US Geological Survey, Friday's earthquake has proved to be the deadliest earthquake since 1960.
12,000 people were killed in the 1960 earthquake.
