PM Trudeau

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada is looking at developing new infrastructure to help other countries transition away from Russian oil and coal.

He made the comments at the conclusion of the G-7 leaders' summit in Germany that was focused on the conflict in Ukraine.

Trudeau says Canada is looking at what it can do in the short term to "alleviate pressures."

Over the course of the summit, the leaders agreed to consider a cap on the price of crude oil and petroleum from Russia, and even a comprehensive ban on Russian oil and coal.
