Calgary converting more empty offices in into housing

BY THE CANADIAN PRESS, Jul 7, 2022 1:53 PM - REPORT AN ERROR

City officials in Calgary say two more downtown buildings will see vacant office space repurposed into residential housing.

It is part of a program announced last summer that aims to infuse life into largely emptyor underutilized office buildings in the downtown core.

The area has the greatest amount of empty office space in Calgary's downtown and three similar projects were announced in April.

It is part of Calgary's Downtown Calgary Development Incentive Program. The Downtown Calgary Incentive Program is a critical part of our revitalization strategy,” said Mayor Jyoti Gondek in a release. "These two additional office to residential projects will create much needed homes and amenities, which are key components to attract more people into our inner city communities."
