By-elections for 4 more assembly seats may be announced in Punjab soon. These are the seats from where sitting MLAs have now become MPs. These assembly seats include Dera Baba Nanak, Giddarbaha, Barnala and Chabewal assembly constituency of Hoshiarpur.

According to the rules, MLAs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Amarinder Singh Raja Waring and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare, who won the Lok Sabha elections, will have to resign before June 20. After his resignation, the Election Commission will start further proceedings for the by-election.

It is to be noted that the by-election for the Jalandhar West seat has already been announced, on which voting will be held on July 10. In the Lok Sabha elections, AAP has been at the third position in the Jalandhar West seat, in such a situation, if the Aam Aadmi Party fails to save this seat as well, then by 2027, a big atmosphere can be prepared against the AAP.
