Ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has carried out a major organisational reshuffle, handing key responsibilities to two prominent leaders associated with Punjab.
Under the new appointments announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal has been appointed as the party’s National Vice-President. Meanwhile, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has been given the additional responsibility of being in charge of the party’s national headquarters.
The appointments give Punjab representation at important levels of the BJP’s national organisational structure. The party is also focusing on strengthening its organisation in Punjab as it prepares for the 2027 Assembly elections.
The BJP has stated its intention to strengthen its organisation down to the booth level and prepare to contest all 117 Assembly seats in the state. The latest appointments are being viewed as part of the party’s broader organisational strategy ahead of the Punjab polls.
With Manpreet Badal taking on a national vice-presidential role and Tarun Chugh assuming charge of the central office, the BJP has increased the responsibilities of two senior Punjab leaders as it prepares for the upcoming electoral battle.
