There is news that UP gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who was in the headlines while incarcerated in Ropar Jail in Punjab, died of a heart attack.

He was currently lodged in a jail in UP. Earlier on Tuesday also, Mukhtar Ansari's health deteriorated and he was discharged after being admitted to the hospital for 14 hours. A few days ago, Mukhtar Ansari had claimed that an attempt was being made to kill him by giving him slow poison.

Ansari was serving the sentence since 2005. He was sentenced to life imprisonment twice in different cases. Dozens of cases were registered against him in Mau, Gajipur, Varanasi in UP and he was imprisoned in Ropar Jail in Punjab for two years in a case of threatening a person.
