A judge has kept bail at one million dollars for a white Minneapolis police officer charged with second-degree murder in the death of a black man.
Derek Chauvin said almost nothing during an 11 minute hearing in which he appeared on closed-circuit television from prison.
A judge raised the 44 year old Chauvin's unconditional bond from half a million dollars.
Chauvin also faces charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
George Floyd's death has resulted in marches and sometimes violent rallies in the US and around the world.
His funeral is tomorrow in suburban Houston, Texas.
Hundreds of mourners are lining up outside a church in George Floyd's native Houston for a final public viewing.
The service comes as Floyd's death continues to spur protesters, leaders and cities around the world into action two weeks after he died at the hands of police in Minneapolis.
He will be buried tomorrow in suburban Pearland.
