Harsimrat Kaur Badal has claimed that some backbenchers of the BJP in the party are trying to break the Akali Dal amid the ongoing rebellion in the Shiromani Akali Dal, a regional party of Punjab. Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that only 5 of our 117 leaders are against Sukhbir Badal.

He also targeted Bibi Jagir without naming her, Harsimrat Badal said that BJP had also contested the SGPC election for him. At the same time, according to information, Sukhbir Badal offered to resign from the post of President in a party meeting held today in Chandigarh, but his colleagues rejected this decision and asked Sukhbir Badal to remain in the post of President.
