The Shiromani Akali Dal has started preparations for the by-elections of 4 Vidhan Sabha seats in Punjab. These seats include Barnala, Giddarbaha, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabewal.
The party's parliamentary board is starting a tour of these four assembly constituencies from August 24 to select candidates for the elections.
Sukhbir Badal himself is active in Giddarbaha and it is believed that he will take the by-election from here, for the remaining three seats, the party will field candidates after taking feedback from the constituencies.
It is to be noted that the Shiromani Akali Dal has increased its activity at a time when the party has been lagging behind the BJP in many constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections.
