Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh retired today after 33 years in the Indian Parliament.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is considered the father of India's liberal economy and the architect of the Indo-US nuclear agreement. 91-year-old Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister in the Congress-led UPA government for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2014. He was also the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1982 to 1985.

Let us tell you that the number 91 has been very important in the life of former Prime Minister Singh.

In October 1991, he became a member of the Upper House of Parliament for the first time. During this period, he was the Finance Minister in former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao's government from 1991-96. Not only this, he retired from the Rajya Sabha on 3 April 2024 at the age of 91.

In his political career, he was the Prime Minister of the country for 10 years between 2004 and 2014. While being the Finance Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh initiated economic reforms in 1991 by announcing the country's economic and industrial policies.
