3 MLAs who won the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab have resigned from their current posts. They include former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa from Dera Baba Nanak, AAP leader Raj Kumar Chabewal from Chabewal of Hoshiarpur and Congress president Amarinder Raja Waring from Giddarbaha.
These three leaders were elected members of parliament in the Lok Sabha elections, due to which it was necessary for them to leave the legislature. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhawan has accepted their resignations as MLAs.
Along with this, three Vidhan Sabha seats have become vacant in Punjab. Barnala MLA Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare may also resign soon. He won the Lok Sabha elections from Sangrur on the ticket of AAP.
