The ED has filed an affidavit opposing the Supreme Court's decision on the interim bail of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tomorrow. The ED said that Kejriwal is not contesting elections and no leader has been granted bail from custody for campaigning before and campaigning is not a fundamental right.
ED also said in his affidavit that elections are held throughout the year across the country. If every leader is granted interim bail only in view of elections, it will be impossible to keep any leader in jail.
It is to be noted that the Supreme Court will pronounce the verdict on Kejriwal's interim bail on Friday. The Supreme Court had said that she could consider bail because of the election campaign.
