Canadian speedskater Charles Hamelin has become the country's most decorated male Winter Olympian, and he did it in golden fashion. The 37-year-old Hamelin joined teammates Steven Dubois, Jordan Pierre-Gilles and Pascal Dion to win the men's 5000m short-track relay. It's a sixth career medal for Hamelin and the third of the Games for Dubois, who now has a gold, silver and bronze in Beijing. Canada won the 5,000m relay in short track speedskating. Witnesses asked to come forward following indecent act at a school in New Westminster
On February 15th at approximately 11:00 am, New Westminster Police Department officers were called to Glenbrook Middle School for a report of indecent exposure.Staff at the school phoned the New Westminster Police Department to report that an unknown male exposed his genitals to a group of children on the school grounds. Protesters in downtown Ottawa are ignoring police notices to leave and a court injunction against blaring the horns on their trucks. Ottawa police are handing out notices telling the protesters to go home, but that only seems to generate more horn-honking. The usual crowd is gathered at an intersection across from Parliament's Centre Block, waving Canadian flags and dancing to music blaring from speakers. Man dead after being stabbed in Abbotsford
Police say a man has died after being stabbed in Abbotsford. They say an officer was flagged down Tuesday afternoon and found the 30 year old man injured. Abbotsford police say he later died in hospital and RCMP homicide investigators are taking over the case. They say a suspect had yet to be identified. Abbotsford police on Twitter: Abbotsford Police Investigating a Homicide on Simon Ave. Victim is a 30-year-old male. Investigators are in the early stages. Annual inflation rate rises to 5.1 per cent in January on broad price increases
The annual rate of inflation hit 5.1 per cent in January topping five per cent for the first time in more than 30 years.Higher prices for housing, gasoline and groceries are getting most of the blame.The Bank of Canada's next scheduled interest rate announcement is two weeks from today, and analysts are expecting the first of what will likely be several rate hikes over the rest of the year designed to cool inflation.

Kiran Dhesi's ex-boyfriend pleads guilty for manslaughter and indignity to human remains
There has been a big development in Kiran Dhesi's murder case. Kiran's boyfriend, Harjot Singh Deo has pleaded guilty to charges of manslaughter and indignity to human remains. Harjot appeared at Vancouver Supreme Court today for the hearing.Deo's lawyer stated that Deo was carrying a gun, which accidently fired. His lawyer added that thereafter Deo tried to take steps to try and hide her identity. Kiran Dhesi, a student of KPU was found dead in a burning car on August 2, 2017.The next hearing for this case is on Feburary 23rd.

B.C. to lift most COVID restrictions, but mask and vaccine rules remain
British Columbia will drop capacity limits for indoor and outdoor gatherings including at sporting events, fitness centres, restaurants, bars and nightclubs starting tomorrow. BMO Financial Group has partnered with Surrey Hospitals Foundation with a gift of $250,000 to help further the professional development of pediatric nurses. Ottawa police chief resigns amid trucker protests
Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly has resigned, just as the federal government prepares to introduce a motion to enact the Emergencies Act. City councillor Riley Brockington tweeted the news. Sloly has been widely criticized for how the police have handled the protest on the streets of downtown Ottawa, with little enforcement over the past several weeks. Residents have grown increasingly frustrated at the street party atmosphere that has included a gym, bouncy castles, a hot tub and stage being set up as officers appeared to stand and watch.
