A man is dead after what RCMP say is an apparent targeted attack in Surrey, B.C. A statement from police says it happened late Monday afternoon in a hotel parking lot on King George Boulevard.The victim, whose name police have not released, was found at the scene but could not be revived.No suspects have been identified but a silver four-door Infiniti was spotted leaving the area and police are determining if a burning car found a short time later about five kilometres away could be connected.The shooting was the second targeted attack in Metro Vancouver in less than 12 hours.Burnaby RCMP say

Officials in Penticton briefly declared a local state of emergency yesterday and say 16 properties were evacuated during flash flooding caused by sudden downpours. Suspect charged with attempted murder following a shooting at the Williams Lake Stampede

The BC Prosecution Service says a suspect arrested following a shooting at the Williams Lake Stampede has been charged with attempted murder. Jordell Sellars has also been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life. RCMP say two people were taken to hospital in what they say was a brazen shooting at the stampede grounds yesterday afternoon. Staff Sergeant Darren Dodge says in a release that police believe it was a targeted shooting but one innocent bystander was also wounded.

50 bricks of suspected cocaine seized at Aldergrove border crossing

Canada Border Services says it found more than 50 bricks of drugs when officers searched a truck trying to cross from the United States at the Aldergrove border crossing. The agency says officers noticed that some pallets had been tampered with when they searched the truck last month. They found 50 kilograms of suspected cocaine and one kilo of heroin. The RCMP has taken over the investigation and no charges have been announced.

An 18 year old Quebec student who was visiting BC as part of a school group has been critically injured in a bus crash near Castlegar.
