Following the triumph of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series "Heermandi: The Diamond Bazaar," the show has received the green light for a highly anticipated second season. Season 2 will delve into the repercussions of the partition on Lahore and its tawaifs, exploring their migration to the Indian film industry. However, whether any actresses from the previous season will be retained remains undisclosed.

In an interview with a prominent magazine, Sanjay Leela Bhansali elaborated on the upcoming season of "Heeramandi." He stated, “In Heeramandi 2, the women journey from Lahore to the world of cinema. Following the partition, they bid farewell to Lahore, with many finding a new home in the Mumbai or Kolkata film industries. Despite the shift, their essence in the bazaar persists. They continue to dance and sing, now for producers instead of nawabs.”
