Rs 25 crore remuneration for Varun Dhawan

Actor Varun Dhawan’s much-awaited film, Coolie No. 1 which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 25 got a mixed response from the audiences.

However, industry insiders say that the actor was paid big bucks for this Govinda – Karisma Kapoor remake.

According to the source, Coolie No. 1 got a good deal on Amazon Prime Video after theatres were shut down during the lockdown.

"With this film, the actor’s paycheck got bigger than ever.

The actor was reportedly paid Rs. 25 crores for Coolie No. 1. This has been his highest remuneration for any film so far."

The source further adds that Rohit Dhawan, who was the associate director of Coolie No. 1, was paid Rs. 7 crores.

All in all, the Dhawan family raked in nearly Rs. 50 crores for this project.
