This comes as a big relief for actor Salman Khan as the Jodhpur district and sessions court on Thursday dismissed the state government’s plea and acquitted the actor of the charge of filing a false affidavit regarding his arms license in the blackbuck poaching case.
Salman Khan attended the proceeding through video-conferencing while the order was pronounced by district judge Raghvendra Kachhwal.
"There was not much substance in the matter and the allegation had been made against the actor to harass him," said Khan’s counsel H M Saraswat.
Salman had submitted the affidavit in the trial court in 2003, stating that he had lost his arms licence while the case against him for poaching blackbucks in Kankani village in 1998 was being heard.
