In response to the criticism, AP Dhillon took to Instagram with a post that some found cringeworthy, attempting to justify his actions by blaming the 'controlled media'. However, rather than quelling the controversy, this explanation only served to fan the flames of trolling and negative reactions on social media.

AP’s tribute to the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala during his Coachella 2024 performance provoked diverse reactions from fans and followers.

One commenter remarked, "Even Sidhu Moosewala, as an artist, would have respected musical instruments had he witnessed this.
