Punjabi singer AP Dhillon encountered backlash following his onstage guitar smashing at the renowned Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Despite its global significance in the music world, his actions drew attention for all the wrong reasons.

In response to the criticism, AP Dhillon took to Instagram with a post that some found cringeworthy, attempting to justify his actions by blaming the 'controlled media'. However, rather than quelling the controversy, this explanation only served to fan the flames of trolling and negative reactions on social media.

AP’s tribute to the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala during his Coachella 2024 performance provoked diverse reactions from fans and followers.

One commenter remarked, "Even Sidhu Moosewala, as an artist, would have respected musical instruments had he witnessed this. Before making sweeping statements like 'media is controlled,' it's wise to reflect on your manners and values, buddy. God bless." Another individual in the comments section simply noted, "That caption is cringeworthy."

Additionally, a fan chimed in, stating, "You're justifying the wrong things, brother. Do you even remember your cultural reverence for musical instruments? The guitar you smashed was the very one that produced the vibrations you desired for your performance. Is destroying it really the coolest move?

This behavior is that of a fool. A true musician cherishes their instruments more than the music itself. Show some respect, acknowledge your mistake, and apologize to yourself, not just to us. All we're witnessing is your reputation plummeting. If music brought you fame, at least learn to respect it."

During his recent Coachella performance, the Indian-origin Canadian singer, accompanied by songwriter-rapper Shinda Kahlon, paid homage to the late Sidhu Moosewala. The phrase Justice for Sidhu Moosewala adorned the background screen as they delivered their hit track Brown Munde onstage, honoring the iconic artist.
