Punjabi film director, writer, and actor Amberdeep Singh’s son, Laksh Duleh, made his acting debut in the film Mithde, which was produced under his father's banner. The film, which also stars Tania and Roopi Gill in leading roles, was released on the occasion of Holi. A video from a press event following the film's screening went viral, but it quickly sparked a backlash on social media.
In the viral video, Laksh was criticized and trolled for his speech and body language by online users. Responding to the trolls, Amberdeep Singh came to his son's defense, expressing his frustration over the harsh criticism. He said, "His job is to act in the film. Look at the praise he deserves for his work. The journey from playing a simple village boy to portraying a Panchayat leader in the film is a significant growth that he showcased through his acting. Yet, some people are targeting him simply because he spoke in front of the media for the first time. He was nervous, as anyone would be. He is still only 18 years old. What wrong has he done by contributing to Punjabi cinema?"
Additionally, several Punjabi celebrities took to social media to show their support for Laksh, posting encouraging messages to defend him against the negative online comments.
