Netflix cuts subscription rates in India

Content streaming platform Netflix said it is slashing its monthly subscription rates by up to 60 per cent in India, as it looks to woo viewers amid growing competition in the OTT space in the country. Under the new rates that roll out from Tuesday, Netflix's Mobile will now be available at Rs 149 a month (from Rs 199 earlier), while the Basic plan will be priced at Rs 199 a month, instead of Rs 499. The Standard plan will be charged at Rs 499 per month, while Premium will be available at Rs 649 a month.

A documentary about rapper-songwriter Travis Scott's deadly Astroworld concert in Houston has been taken down by Hulu over "confusion" whether the show was created by the streaming platform. Hulu spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter, "This was an investigative local news special from ABC13/KTRK-TV in Houston that originally aired on November 20th. This was not a Hulu documentary and has since been removed to avoid confusion."

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan said she has tested positive for Covid-19, after sources in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said both she and her actor-friend Amrita Arora had contracted the virus. Kareena confirmed her diagnosis on Instagram, adding, “I have tested positive for Covid. I immediately isolated myself while following all medical protocols. I request anyone who has come in contact with me to please get tested,” she said in a statement.
