Superstar Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia passed away on Wednesday, two days after she was admitted to the intensive care unit of a Mumbai Hospital. Akshay took to his Twitter handle, to announce the news of his mother's demise. "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."

Ahead of the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, actor Preity Zinta shared that her team Punjab Kings will get a new anthem. The anthem has been composed by Sajid Khan and sung by Mika Singh. For the unversed, the previous anthem 'Dhoom Punjabi' of Punjab Kings was crooned by Mika's elder brother Daler Mehndi. A resident of D N Nagar in Mumbai was hit by actor Rajat Bedi's car while returning from work on Monday and is in critical condition. Police have registered a case against Rajat Bedi under sections 279 and 338 of IPC and called the accused today for investigation. The accident took place near a temple in West Andheri, Mumbai. Filmmaker Farah Khan Kunder, who is currently battling COVID-19, will soon feature in a special episode of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' with actor Deepika Padukone. The upcoming episode was shot before Farah contracted the disease. On Sunday, Farah took to Instagram and shared a picture from the sets of the popular quiz show.
