Reactions pouring in after more details of John Bolton's book come out
Reaction is pouring in from Washington as more details of the book by President Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton come out. Speaker Nancy Pelosi says John Bolton's book is, quote ``interesting'' because he was so arrogant during the House impeachment inquiry. She said Bolton quote chose loyalty over patriotism, and called his book a substitute for testifying before Congress. In the book Bolton accuses Trump of begging the leader of China to help him get re-elected. Trump calls Bolton a ``sick puppy'' who is taking revenge for being fired.

Officer who shot Rayshard Brooks charged with felony murder
The Atlanta officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks in the back after the fleeing man pointed a stun gun in his direction is going to be charged with felony murder and 10 other crimes. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard made the announcement about Garrett Rolfe during a news conference Wednesday. Howard said Rolfe kicked Brooks while he lay on the ground and that the officer with him, Devin Brosnan, stood on Brooks' shoulder as he struggled for life Friday night. Howard says Brosnan is co-operating and has given testimony, the first time in 40 cases he remembers such co-operation. R

The family of a black man killed in a scuffle with Atlanta police outside a fast food drive-thru is pleading for nonviolent protests and policy changes to end future deaths in police custody. About 20 relatives of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks said at a news conference Monday that he was a loving father with a big heart. George Floyd remembered in private funeral
Hundreds of mourners packed a Houston, Texas church today for the funeral of George Floyd. He was the black man whose death has inspired a worldwide reckoning over racial injustice. Floyd was killed May 25th as a white Minneapolis police officer pressed a knee on Floyd's neck. His niece, Brooke Williams, became emotional as she questioned why officers held her uncle down. She says the accused officer watched as ``his soul left his body.'' Floyd's death sparked international protests.

Bail kept at one million dollars for Minneapolis police officer charged in death of George Floyd
A judge has kept bail at one million dollars for a white Minneapolis police officer charged with second-degree murder in the death of a black man.
Derek Chauvin said almost nothing during an 11 minute hearing in which he appeared on closed-circuit television from prison.
A judge raised the 44 year old Chauvin's unconditional bond from half a million dollars.
Chauvin also faces charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
George Floyd's death has resulted in marches and sometimes violent rallies in the US and around the world.

US President Donald Trump says an improving economy is ``the greatest thing that can happen for race relations'' and the African-American community. He invoked George Floyd's name this morning as he trumpeted the latest job numbers. $750K bail for 3 ex-officers accused in Floyd's death
A judge has set bail at $750,000 apiece for three former Minneapolis police officers charged with aiding and abetting in the death of George Floyd. Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng made their first appearances Thursday in Hennepin County District Court. The Minneapolis Police Department fired them last week and they were arrested Wednesday. Family, celebrities, activists, others gather to remember George Floyd
The golden casket containing George Floyd's body is surrounded by floral arrangements and pictures. The black man died after a white police officer pressed a knee into his neck last month in Minneapolis. The first of three memorial services is being held in the Frank J. Lindquist sanctuary at North Central University. Organizers of this memorial and two others want the services to acknowledge the meaning Floyd had in life to his large family and the broader meaning he has assumed in death.
