The Minneapolis police chief says now-fired Officer Derek Chauvin violated departmental policy in pinning his knee on George Floyd's neck and keeping him down after Floyd had stopped resisting and was in distress. Train hits truck that slid onto track near a tunnel in Taiwan, killing 51
A train has barrelled into an unmanned truck that rolled onto the track in Taiwan. The National Fire Service said at least 51 people were killed and dozens injured in the island's deadliest rail disaster. Many passengers were crushed, while some survivors were forced to climb out of windows and walk along the train's roof to safety. Suspect in attack on Asian American woman in NYC is arrested
Police say a parolee who was convicted of killing his mother nearly two decades ago has been arrested on charges including felony assault as a hate crime for a brutal attack on an Asian American woman near New York City's Times Square. Police said Brandon Elliot is the man seen on video kicking and stomping the woman on Monday. It's not clear whether he has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf. Woman killed after shooting gun in Indonesia's police HQ
A woman entered Indonesia's National Police Headquarters and fired a gun at several officers before being shot dead by police, in what officials said was the latest militant attack in the world's most populous Muslim nation. Video shows vicious attack of Asian American woman in NYC
The New York City Police Department says an Asian American woman has been attacked by a man who repeatedly kicked her in front of witnesses who seemingly stood by. Police say the 65 year old woman was walking along 43rd street on Monday afternoon when a man came up to her and kicked her in the stomach, knocking her to the ground. Police say the man then stomped on the woman's face several times while shouting anti-Asian insults at her. Ottawa announces one-year extension to anti-ISIL mission, but offers few details
Canada is staying in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant for another year. Trains crash in southern Egypt, killing at least 32
Authorities say two trains crashed in southern Egypt, killing at least 32 people and injuring 165 in the latest of a series of deadly crashes on the country's troubled railways. Colorado shooting leaves 10 dead in latest mass tragedy, shooter ID'd as 21-year-old man
Police have identified a 21-year-old man as the suspect in the killing of 10 people at a Boulder, Colorado, supermarket.
Authorities on Tuesday also identified nine victims after previously identifying a police officer who had been killed.
Authorities say the victims were men and women between the ages of 20 and 65.

Finland claims top spot in the World Happiness Report; Canada slips to 15th place
Finland has claimed top spot in the World Happiness Report for the fourth year in a row. Canada has slipped in the rankings from 11th to 15th place. The UN's annual report says COVID-19 brought a year of fear and anxiety, loneliness and lockdown, illness and death, but has not crushed people's spirits. European countries occupied nine of the top 10 spots on the list of the world's happiest countries, with New Zealand rounding out the group. The happiest countries from previous years remained at the top, with the top five being Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland and Netherlands.
