Victoria police officer in hospital after being struck by vehicle, driver arrested

A Victoria police officer has been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on a city street. Police say in a news release that the officer was on special duty assignment, accompanying city bylaw staff on Monday morning, when he was hit. The department says the officer was standing next to his vehicle when he was hit from behind. The officer is being treated in hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene. Police say the man will be held while the investigation is ongoing.

University RCMP investigate double pedestrian fatality in a single vehicle collision

University of BC president Santa Ono has issued a statement of condolence following the deaths of two students early Sunday. He says the accident that resulted in the deaths of two 18 year old students is an awful tragedy and the entire university is in mourning. Kelowna RCMP are investigating an all-terrain vehicle accident that left one man dead and another airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. IHIT invastigating after a body was discovered inside a pickup truck destroyed by fire

British Columbia's homicide team was deployed to Maple Ridge after a body was discovered inside a pickup truck destroyed by fire. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says it is not yet known if the discovery of the body is related to the Lower Mainland's ongoing gang conflict.
