Four Indian nationals accused of killing B.C. Sikh activist to appear in court today
Four Indian nationals accused in the murder of British Columbia Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar are all due in court today.
Twenty-two-year-old Amandeep Singh appeared via video link for his first appearance in a Surrey, B.C., court last week, and the matter has been put forward to today.
Singh was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder earlier this month while he was already in the custody of Peel Regional Police in Ontario for unrelated firearms charges.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says some immigrants to Canada who lack official status need a pathway to help them stay, while in other cases Ottawa must speed up deportation procedures.

In Delhi's liquor scam case, ED made Kejriwal as well as Aam Aadmi Party guilty
ED has made Arvind Kejriwal as well as Aam Aadmi Party guilty in the Delhi liquor scam case. The investigation agency gave this information in the Supreme Court today. At the same time, the Supreme Court has reserved the decision in the case of Kejriwal's challenge to his arrest.
Overall, this is the 8th charge sheet filed by ED in this case, in which 18 people have been arrested so far. ED arrested 55-year-old Arvind Kejriwal from his official residence on March 21. Currently, he is out of jail on temporary bail.

Crews fighting wildfires near Fort Nelson hope skies open up after rainy Thursday
A rainy Thursday in and around Fort Nelson was exactly what fire crews were looking for.
In a video released late Thursday night by the B.C. Wildfire Service, fire behaviour specialist for the Parker Lake and Patry Creek blazes Evan Peck said recent rain was much needed and made for excellent conditions for fire suppression crews.
While more rain is forecast in the coming days, Peck says there's not been nearly enough precipitation yet to overcome long-term drought conditions in northeast British Columbia.

Canada sanctions four Israeli 'extremist settlers' accused of attacking Palestinians
Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly is imposing sanctions on Israelis she accuses of "extremist settler violence" in the West Bank, three months after pledging to do so.
The sanctions apply to four men who stand accused of "violent and destabilizing actions against Palestinian civilians and their property in the West Bank."

Quebec man, 60, charged with second-degree murder of 34-year-old daughter
A 60-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 34-year-old daughter in Ormstown, Que., southwest of Montreal.
Alain Caza appeared in court this morning, where he was charged with killing Amanda Caza.
Quebec provincial police says local officers responded Wednesday morning to a call about an altercation between two people at a home on Cairns Street.
When the arrived they found the woman, whose death was declared on site, as well as a 60-year-old man presenting non-life-threatening injuries.
