A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a northeast Edmonton house fire Monday evening. Firefighters rescued him from a burning home in Edmonton. Fire crews arrived at the house in the city's northeast just before suppertime. A woman and three other children were able to make it out safely but there was a five-year-old boy that needed to be rescued by firefighters. Officials say the boy was in serious but stable condition.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is set to hike the policy repo rate by 40 basis points to 4.80 per cent on Wednesday and increase the inflation forecast for the current fiscal to above 6 per cent from its earlier projection of 5.7 per cent, according to market analysts and economists. Five people were killed and five others injured after a large truck collided with a van belonging to school serving disabled adults in southeast Arkansas, authorities said. RCMP in southern Alberta say six teens in Nanton are facing criminal charges after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly chased and bullied late last month. Police say they have arrested and charged five 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old, none of whom can be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They are facing a total of 10 criminal charges that include intimidation, mischief and uttering threats. Police say their investigation found a long history of inappropriate behaviour between the group and the girl.
